The author’s writing style is slow burning yet intensely visual. It is gothic in creating this young woman’s emotionally gained pain, while this book tries to provide the light of hope. The house itself creates the characteristics – it is broken, still, stubborn and beckoning.

A beautiful intertwining of the past and present, seamlessly moving between characters and their back-stories, very detailed story building and character design with a vast, enticing and mysterious plot.

Bought the book and finished it in one sitting. Truly a captivating read, and amazing work done by a first time author whom I am sure to be reading again and again.
